Hello!
My name is Hannah Montgomery. I am currently studying Media and Communication at Birmingham City University and I am in my second year. As a journalism specialist, I am determined to become a successful writer, preferably for a teenage magazine, but as I enjoy writing about anything, simply becoming an established journalist would be a dream!Ever since I was a young girl, I have had a passion for writing and reading, and my love for English and Media has strengthened throughout my time in education. Much of my childhood was spent with my head in a book, and even in primary school I was penning short stories and writing scripts for plays which I then acted out with my friends in front of the year group and our parents, so my creativity was flowing from a young age.
I am an extremely hard-working individual; I have always prided myself on being conscientious, working to the best of my ability. I put maximum effort and enthusiasm into my academic studies because I find this to be of the utmost importance, and as I have a hunger to succeed in this thriving industry, I believe that being meticulous and passionate is fundamental.
I am looking to extend my skills by gaining media work experience in the journalism field. I have worked for magazines and newspapers in the past and I have thoroughly enjoyed these placements, and as this is my ultimate career ambition, I am keen to acquire more valuable involvement with more editorial publications.
Personally, I want to continue strengthening my communication skills and becoming more confident, and this will come with experience, so I am eager to obtain more work placements and continue working hard on various media projects.
Professionally, I am aiming to make my portfolio as strong as possible. In 6 months’ time I would like to have done more work experience, and taken the opportunity to expand on my current skills whilst acquiring new ones. In the long term, my objective is to secure vacancies within the journalism industry and continue learning from experienced media professionals. I am aiming high, and hopefully in 3 years’ time I will have gained plenty of fundamental knowledge from experts to have secured a name for myself as a working journalist for an established company – preferably a magazine.
