Additional Projects

Although my primary interest is Journalism, I did not restrict myself to specialising in one area at an early stage, because I wanted to try my hand at several different areas of the media to begin with. In my first year at Birmingham City University I took the broad course, studying journalism, TV, photography and PR modules because this would determine which pathway was definitely the right one for me. After establishing that journalism is certainly my forte, I concentrated on these journalistic modules in my second year, but I have still participated in several other projects in order to gather as much experience as possible and broaden my skills. Here is a summary of what other projects I have been a part of:

· Photography – photo essays and documentaries
· PR – conferences and press releases
· Television – short films and dramas (camera, VT, vision-mixing, editing, set design)
· Broadcast journalism – scriptwriting a radio news bulletin and presenting it live on air complete with vox-pop inserts
· Modelling – portrait, promotional (magazines) and fashion (Forgotten Vintage), catwalks (Fashion Rox, charity runway, IAmAfroBeauty)
· Production Event – creating an event for the general public to discuss issues regarding multiculturalism – preparation for the event included writing articles for online/print publications based on the topic of multiculturalism

Modelling:
I have dabbled with modelling as a fun hobby alongside my academic studies. I was offered the opportunity to attend a photoshoot for Forgotten Vintage, and I gladly accepted this request. I have also done photoshoots for several students' photography projects and modelling for Hello Birmingham magazine. I have previously done a charity fashion show, catwalks for Fashion Rox (In association with Harvey Nichols) and IAmAfroBeauty (which also included a choreographed dance routine). Here are some of the photographs:

TV:
For my TV modules I have been camera operator, editor, vision mixer, VT and responsible for set design. Here are some pictures from the set design process and our drama production (behind-the-scenes):

Photography Work:
For one photography project I chose the event topic, specifically documenting the St. Patricks Day Parade. Here are the images I produced for that assignment:

Production Event:
Our event was centred on the subject of multiculturalism, so I wrote several articles about this topic. Here are some photographs of the event our year put on at The Rainbow in Digbeth:
